Spiritual Warfare 101

Spiritual warfare is not about fighting ghosts or demons in your room. It’s about understanding the unseen spiritual rebellion that began in Eden and continues to influence the nations and systems of this world.

🌍 The Unseen Realm

The Bible teaches that God created both a visible and invisible world. There is a spiritual realm that exists alongside ours.

Colossians 1:16

“For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.”

🏛️ Rebellion in the Divine Council

After the Tower of Babel, God disinherited the nations and gave them over to lesser spiritual beings to govern.

Deuteronomy 32:8–9

“When the Most High divided their inheritance to the nations, When He separated the sons of Adam, He set the boundaries of the peoples According to the number of the sons of God. For the Lord’s portion is His people; Jacob is the place of His inheritance.”

Some of these spiritual beings rebelled and led the nations into idolatry and injustice.

Psalm 82:1

“God stands in the divine council; He judges among the gods.”

⚔️ The Powers of Darkness

The New Testament calls these rebellious spiritual authorities:

  • Principalities
  • Powers
  • Rulers of darkness
  • Spiritual hosts of wickedness

Ephesians 6:12

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

👑 Jesus’ Victory

Through His death and resurrection, Jesus disarmed these rebellious powers.

Colossians 2:15

“Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.”

🛡️ Your Role in the War

Believers do not fight for victory — we fight from victory.

We stand firm by:

  • Putting on the armor of God
  • Walking in truth
  • Living in righteousness
  • Praying in the Spirit
  • Resisting the enemy through faith

James 4:7

“Submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”

The war is real. But the King has already won.
